Thank You Kindness Note Card Project

$7.00

Teach the art of the thank you note card to spread gratitude and kindness in your middle or high school with this 3-part letter writing project.

Complete all 3 parts at once or throughout the year:

  • School-wide thank you card flash mob
  • Thoughtful note of appreciation to someone from your past
  • Researched thank you letter to a never-met-before hero for their contribution

Description

This is a great no-prep 3-part project to keep on-hand for those slower points of the year or right before a holiday break. Each part can be done in isolation, spaced out as far or as close together as you’d like! Or complete all three steps at once for a 2-week campaign to spread kindness.

3 project segments:

  • Whole-School Thank You flash mob to make the day of every single student at your school
  • Long Overdue Thank You to send gratitude for a long-ago gesture by an old friend or family member
  • Out of the Blue Thank You to extend appreciation to a never-met living hero

Ideas for when to complete:

  • November Season of Gratitude
  • December Season of Giving
  • February Acts of Kindness
  • May End-of-Year Love

Included in this 3-Part Thank You writing project:

  • Teacher Overview with 4 pages of detailed step-by-step lesson plans
  • Overview of all 3 projects if doing all three at once
  • Overviews for each project, with sample note and rubric sheets
  • Editable Google Slide version of all student materials

BONUS 34 thank you card designs included

  • 16 quarter-sheet for informal classmate notes
  • 10 half-sheet designs for more formal notes
  • 4 whole-sheet designs for an accommodation option

This was a great day before Thanksgiving activity. Students were able to choose a template that spoke to them and email a copy of their thank you to a teacher. Great variety! - Kristina

I loved using this with my English students. I'm also excited to use them with my NHS students. Saying thank you is a huge part of leadership! - fellow teacher-author

My students loved this activity. They were fully engaged. They loved being creative on their cards and putting their own personal touches on them. - Brenda
